Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon beef tallow (moisturizing and nourishing)
- 1 tablespoon beeswax (for firmness)
- 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil (for its healing and antioxidant properties)
- Optional:
- Beetroot powder (for a reddish-pink tint)
- Cocoa powder (for a warm, brown tint)
Instructions:
1. Melt the Base Ingredients:
- In a double boiler, melt the beef tallow and beeswax over low heat, stirring occasionally until fully melted.
2. Add Vitamin E Oil:
- Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the vitamin E oil. This adds extra nourishment for your lips.
3. Choose and Add Your Tint:
- For a reddish-pink tint: Add ¼ teaspoon **beetroot powder** and mix well.
- For a brown tint: Add ¼ teaspoon **cocoa powder** and mix thoroughly.
4. Strain (Optional):
- If using beetroot powder, you can strain the mixture through a fine mesh or cheesecloth to remove any graininess, but it’s optional if you prefer the natural texture.
5. Pour into Containers:
- Quickly pour the mixture into chapstick tubes or small tins before it hardens. Let them cool and solidify at room temperature for a couple of hours.
Tint Adjustment:
- Adjust the amount of beetroot or cocoa powder depending on how deep or light you want the color. Start with a small amount, then gradually add more to achieve your desired tint.
Usage:
- Once cooled, your tinted chapstick is ready for use! It will keep your lips moisturized, with a slight natural tint.
This DIY recipe lets you customize color and texture, and the beef tallow offers intense nourishment, especially for dry or chapped lips.
