Blackberry Syrup Recipe
Ingredients for Syrup:
• 1 cup Fresh or frozen blackberries
• 1 cup Water
• 1/2 cup Honey
• 1 tsp Vanilla extract
Instructions for Syrup:
1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of blackberries and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, crushing the blackberries with a spoon as they cook.
3. Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
4. Discard the solids and return the liquid to the saucepan.
5. Stir in 1/2 cup of honey and 1 tsp of vanilla extract until honey is completely dissolved.
6. Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature before using. Store any extra syrup in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Black Dahlia Recipe
Ingredients for Mocktail:
• 1 oz Blackberry, honey, and vanilla syrup (cooled)
• 1/2 oz Fresh lime juice
• 4 oz Gin alternative
• Blackberries or raspberries for garnish
• Ice cubes
Instructions for Mocktail:
1. Fill a cocktail shaker or mixing glass with ice cubes.
2. Add 1 oz of syrup, along with 1/2 oz of fresh lemon juice and the 4 oz of Gin alternative.
3. Stir or shake well until combined.
4. Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass filled with ice.
5. Top off with sparkling water or soda water.
6. Garnish with blackberries or raspberries.
