I'm Back Babes!
Dear Friends,
Oh hey, remember me? Yeah, I kinda disappeared for a few months. My bad. Turns out, when your body waves a giant red flag and yells, "Hey, maybe stop treating me like a garbage disposal," you should probably listen. So, I did.
I won’t sugarcoat it—I hit a rough patch. Depression decided to throw a full-blown tantrum, and my eating habits went off the rails. And because I apparently thought playing life on hard mode was a good idea, I decided to toss alcohol into the mix to “help” (spoiler alert: it didn’t). It was a great coping mechanism… if by “great,” you mean “an absolute dumpster fire.” Sure, it made socializing easier, but it also made my mental health nosedive, my relationships suffer, and my body revolt like I had personally offended it. The good news? My job remained intact, which is a miracle considering the chaos I put myself through. But it was a wake-up call—one I couldn’t hit snooze on anymore.
Now, let’s talk about the delightful consequences of my indulgence. My digestion? A disaster. Bloating and constipation came back with a vengeance, like an unwelcome sequel to a movie no one asked for. My hormones were in full rebellion mode, acne and rosacea made surprise guest appearances, and sleep? Ha! What even is that? I was tired, cranky, and feeling like an overworked laptop with 2% battery left. So yeah, my body was pretty much screaming, “You did this to yourself.”
But here’s the thing: life isn’t a straight path, and we all take detours (some of us just choose the scenic route through Dysfunction Junction). The important part? Getting back on track. And that’s exactly what I did. I Marie Kondo’d my home, ditched the things dragging me down (yes, that includes certain foods, habits, and even my traitorous old pillow that wasn’t doing my neck any favors), and refocused on what actually makes me feel good.
Speaking of feeling good, I went full minimalist on my closet, because apparently, decision fatigue is a real thing. My family even joined in, which was shocking, considering they usually act like I’m asking them to donate a kidney when I suggest decluttering. Now our home feels like an actual sanctuary instead of a chaotic landmine of “stuff.” And let me tell you, having fewer choices in the morning is wildly underrated.
Now, let’s talk about the absolute game-changer: liposomal technology. Fancy name, but what it really means is my vitamins actually absorb instead of passing through me like an uninvited houseguest. I loaded up on liposomal magnesium, B12, D3, colostrum, and pre/postbiotics, and wow—my body finally decided to function like it’s supposed to. I feel human again! If you haven’t tried liposomal supplements yet, do yourself a favor and get on it. I swear, it’s like upgrading from dial-up to fiber internet. My go-to brands? Mary Ruth’s, Seed, and Armra.
And speaking of Armra—let’s chat colostrum. Yeah, I know, it sounds weird. It’s basically baby cow’s first superfood, but guess what? It works wonders for adults too. Gut health? Improved. Immune system? Boosted. Skin? Glowing. It’s like nature’s version of a cheat code for overall wellness. So, if you can get past the initial “wait, I’m drinking what now?” moment, it’s totally worth it.
Now, let’s get to the big one—alcohol. I kicked it to the curb. I realized it was doing nothing for me except making my anxiety worse, my sleep nonexistent, and my productivity take a nosedive. So, I cut it out, and let me tell you—the clarity, energy, and peace that followed? Unreal. Turns out, I don’t need a glass of wine to relax or “fit in.” Who knew? Well, apparently, every sober person ever, but I digress. If you’ve been toying with the idea of ditching alcohol, consider this your sign. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I don’t miss it one bit.
And because I’m fully in my self-care era, I’ve also been diving into red light therapy, infrared sauna sessions, and regular massages. Turns out, taking care of yourself actually… works? Who would’ve thought? Establishing solid morning and evening routines has also been a game-changer. Mornings no longer feel like a chaotic scramble, and my nights? Way more restful. 10/10 recommend.
So, what’s next? I’ll be sharing more details about these self-care practices, the wellness hacks that actually make a difference, and all the other fun discoveries I’ve made along the way. Stay tuned—I promise it’ll be worth it.
Thanks for sticking around, even when I went MIA. I appreciate every single one of you, and I can’t wait to reconnect. If you’re not already part of the TWB community, now’s the time! Come join us, bring your wit, your wisdom, and maybe a strong opinion or two—I love a good discussion. Let’s grow together.
See you soon (for real this time),
