Hey friend,
Today’s piece is a little more vulnerable, a little less filtered, and a whole lot closer to the bone.
It’s about what it feels like to show up—to write, to share, to pour your heart out—and be met with… nothing.
No comments. No feedback. Just the echo of your own voice and a nagging voice in your head whispering, “Is anyone even listening?”
If you’ve ever felt invisible in your work or life, I hope these words remind you that you’re not alone. That your voice does matter. Even when it feels like it’s being swallowed by silence.
Let’s get into it.
💛 When Silence Feels Like Rejection
There’s a kind of pain that no one really talks about:
The pain of pouring your heart out, posting your truth, sharing your soul—and hearing nothing back.
No likes.
No “OMG, this spoke to me.”
Just... silence.
And I know, I know—“people are still seeing it even if they’re not engaging.”
But when you’ve spent hours crafting something that came straight from your gut,
when you’re bleeding honesty onto the page,
and the only response is crickets?
That silence can feel like a slap.
It makes you spiral.
Am I a terrible writer?
Is this pointless?
Is anyone even out there?
Truthfully? I’ve been there—still am there more often than I’d like to admit. I create from a place of deep intention and real emotion. Not for clicks. Not for clout. But to connect. To help someone feel a little less alone. And when it feels like no one’s listening?
It hurts.
It makes me question the path.
It chips away at my confidence, piece by piece.
But here’s what I keep reminding myself (even when my ego is bruised and my confidence is hiding under the bed):
Just because it's quiet doesn’t mean it’s not working.
Someone might be reading in tears and not know how to respond.
Someone might be too shy to comment but quietly healing.
Someone might share it privately with a friend and say, “This. This is what I’ve been trying to say.”
And that? That’s impact—even if I never get to see it.
Still, can I be honest with you?
Sometimes all we need is a simple, “You’re doing great.”
A little “I see you.”
A “This helped me.”
Because silence may be golden, but it’s also deafening when you’re already fighting your own doubts.
So if you’ve ever felt invisible in the noise of the internet,
if you’ve questioned whether your work matters,
if you’ve hit post and then felt like you just screamed into a void—
I see you. I hear you. And I promise, you’re not alone.
And if you’re needing a sign to keep going?
This is it.
💛
