Have the Audacity to Put Yourself Out There
How many times have you talked yourself out of doing something because of fear? Fear of judgment, failure, or gasp—what if people don’t like you? (Spoiler alert: not everyone will, and that’s their loss.)
Listen, waiting until you feel “ready” is like waiting for Ryan Gosling to knock on your door and ask if you want to run away to a remote cabin with him. It’s not happening. You will never feel 100% prepared, and the stars will never align just right. Meanwhile, your dreams are sitting there, tapping their watch, wondering when you’re finally going to show up.
For years, I talked about writing. I talked about sharing my thoughts, my experiences, my knowledge. I knew I had things to say, but I let fear keep me in the background. What if no one cared? What if people laughed? What if someone, somewhere, rolled their eyes so hard they sprained something?
But here’s the thing—I write the way I would want to read. I share the way I would want others to share with me: raw, honest, no-BS, and maybe with a few well-placed expletives for emphasis. And guess what? The moment I stopped overthinking and actually did it… everything changed.
Letting go of the fear, stepping into my confidence, and embracing the audacity that people might actually want to read or hear what I have to say has been one of the best things I’ve ever done. It’s serving me in all the best ways possible.
The Power of Showing Up
Putting yourself out there—whether it’s starting a business, sharing your art, speaking your truth—takes guts. But courage isn’t about being fearless. It’s about feeling the fear and doing it anyway (yes, I stole that from The Princess Diaries, and no, I’m not sorry).
