Because who needs a life plan when you can just try random stuff and hope for the best?

Love my snarky takes on marriage, parenting, and the chaos of raising an AuDHD-fueled family—while still trying to live that crunchy dream, but do not want to upgrade to paid? Help keep the laughs rolling, the sourdough rising, and the wellness wisdom flowing. Toss a few bucks my way—because organic sarcasm and real talk deserve a little funding. 😉

What Do I Even Like? The Snarky Exploration Edition

Goal:
To stumble upon what you like by accidentally trying a bunch of things. It's like dating, but for hobbies, food, and activities—without the commitment. Think of this as "you might not know, but you will eventually figure it out, or at least have a good time trying."

1. Food Exploration (Get Ready for the Ride)

  • Try something new, for better or worse: Find a dish you’ve never tried before, and eat it. No, seriously. Don’t just look at it and say, “nah, I’m good.” Actually, try it. Then, be honest with yourself—did it make you feel like a gourmet chef, or did you almost gag?

    • Example: “I tried a new curry dish. The spice level made me feel alive. Like, maybe too alive. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this.”

  • Create a list of meals to try out (because why not?): Plan to cook something new once a week. That way, you can fail in style. Write down a list of dishes you think you might like... then, cross your fingers and hope you're not allergic to any of them.

    • Example: “Made a pizza from scratch today. It was either going to be an ‘OMG, I’m a chef!’ moment or I would cry into my dough. Spoiler: I cried into my dough.”

  • Textural Disaster or Triumph? After trying new food, ask yourself, “Was that texture weird? Too chewy? Too slimy? Or was it a smooth operator?” We’re talking like that avocado toast—does it feel like a creamy dream or a sad soggy disaster?

    • Example: “Tried chia seeds in my smoothie. Were they like little explosions of joy or the chewy, weird floating stuff I kept having to swallow down?”

Trying to figure out what I even like, one random activity at a time. Spoiler: It involves a lot of pizza, questionable yoga poses, and Netflix binges.

2. Self-Care & Activities (AKA, What’s This ‘Relaxation’ Thing Anyway?)

  • Try a new self-care ritual (spoiler: it’s just you pretending to be fancy): Face masks, baths, or staring at your reflection and pretending you have it together. Pick one. Do it. Don’t judge yourself—this is for discovery (or because you saw someone on Instagram do it and figured, ‘Why not?’).

    • Example: “I took a 20-minute walk in nature. I’m either going to be enlightened or end up in a TikTok video where I trip over a rock. TBD.”

  • Play with hobbies like they’re your new Tinder date: Do something random this week. Go ahead, try knitting, photography, or interpretive dance (your call). How does it feel? Are you truly captivated, or just low-key hoping it ends soon so you can scroll your phone?

    • Example: “Tried painting today. Did I feel like a tortured artist or just a person with a bunch of paint on their hands asking, ‘Why?’”

  • Record your feels, no filter: After you’ve tried something new, jot down your reaction. Were you turned on (by the activity, calm down) or was it just meh? Was there a single ounce of joy, or did you regret your life choices?

    • Example: “Tried journaling for 5 minutes. Did I feel like a wise guru or did I just scribble nonsense and wonder if anyone would ever love me again?”

3. Visual & Environmental (Your Mood Depends on Your Aesthetics)

  • Try different places, because, you know, vibe matters: Sit in a quiet park, then go to a bustling market. Now, notice how your inner peace reacts. Does the park make you feel zen, or like you’re just bored out of your mind? Does the market get your energy buzzing, or are you in ‘get me out of here’ mode?

    • Example: “Went to a café for some ‘me time.’ Did it make me feel inspired and productive, or was I just worried about who saw me sipping a pumpkin spice latte?”

  • Rearrange your space like you’re a professional interior designer (aka, a Pinterest addict): Move some stuff around. Pretend it’s a new world. Observe. How do you feel about your “new” space? Is it amazing or should you just call a therapist because now the mess is making you anxious?

    • Example: “I moved a plant on my desk. Now I feel like a creative genius or I just took 20 minutes to avoid real work. You decide.”
